‘Niver Ancestors – There Are No Records’

Amidst the stacks of material in the basement of my grandparents’ house at 87 Morton Road, was this lovely (I think) daguerreotype. When I opened it, an enclosed slip of paper fell out. In a single line of spidery handwriting, it read, “Niver Ancestors – there are no records”
